NO GI CLASSES

 

Our No Gi classes focus on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the gi (kimono), using only official Gracie Barra shorts and rash guards.

*Our NoGi program requires you to have minimum 3 stripes to ensure you have a good foundation before jumping into a higher paced environment.

Many Gracie Barra athletes worldwide are preparing for the No Gi Worlds, as this submission grappling format is rapidly gaining popularity. While the principles of jiu-jitsu are similar in both gi and no-gi, there are key differences, especially in grips. To develop a complete jiu-jitsu game, practitioners should incorporate no-gi techniques alongside regular gi training.

Without the collar, sleeves and pant legs, students learn to adapt their grips, relying on underhooks, overhooks, collar ties and wrist controls. This shift enhances their understanding of controlling an opponent's body.

Our advanced No Gi classes are fast-paced, cardio-intensive and emphasise fluid movement and precise techniques.

They offer a dynamic contrast to the slower pace often found in gi grappling, making both styles enjoyable!
